About The College

Khawarizmi Engineering College at the University of Baghdad is an institution dedicated to the study of modern engineering sciences. It was previously known as the second engineering college at the University of Baghdad. Following the last war in Iraq, it was renamed after the famous mathematician Al-Khwarizmi. The college is located in the Al-Jadriya area of Baghdad.
It was established on June 13, 2002, and the first group of students was admitted in the beginning of the 2002-2003 academic year after fulfilling all college requirements, including buildings and laboratories, in coordination with the University of Baghdad. The college focuses on the study of modern engineering branches. Initially, known as the second engineering college, it was part of the first engineering college, which is the main college at the University of Baghdad. Previously, studies would begin from the third year, and admission required passing a qualifying exam. Submission Guidelines

Paper Submission Policy:

ICICT 2025 will not accept any paper that: Is currently under review at another conference or journal. Has already been accepted or published in another venue. It is submitted elsewhere during the ICICT 2025 review period. All submitted papers must be original and unpublished, reporting novel experimental or theoretical research. Papers must adhere to these criteria and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Manuscript Requirements:

Each paper should include an abstract (150-200 words), figures, tables, and references. The minimum page limit is 8 pages, and the maximum is 12 pages, following the Springer format. The paper should have 4-5 keywords. All figures and tables must be high-resolution and properly numbered. They should be referenced in the manuscript body. Tables must not be in image format. All mathematical equations must be prepared using a Math Editor (no equation images). No figures or tables should be copied from other papers or online sources. The manuscript should maintain a high level of language clarity. A language expert will review the final version. Grammatical errors are not acceptable.

Plagiarism Policy & Publication Ethics:

ICICT 2025 follows a strict anti-plagiarism policy. Every submission will be checked using Crossref Similarity Check (Turnitin) before review. Plagiarism must be less than 10% (excluding references). Papers exceeding this threshold will be automatically rejected. AI-generated content or ChatGPT-assisted writing is strictly prohibited. If plagiarism is detected at any stage, the paper will be rejected immediately. Authors found guilty of plagiarism may face the following sanctions: Rejection or removal of the article from final publications. Notification to their supervisor(s) and affiliated institution(s). Reporting to academic ethics committees and research funding bodies. Public disclosure of the authors’ names, affiliated institutions, and details of the misconduct.

Citation & Referencing Guidelines:

All references must be cited within the paper. Ensure all figures and tables are numbered properly and referenced in the text. Citations must be formatted as per Springer guidelines.

Privacy & Registration Policy:

Registrant contact details are kept confidential and are not shared without consent. Contact details may be used to notify participants of future events related to ICICT. Personal information collected during registration is used for verification and communication.

What are the criteria for accepting submitted research for participation ?

Presenters are required to submit a full paper, presentation slides, and, in the case of poster presentations, a well-designed academic poster.

Who is eligible to attend the live event venue ?

The live event is open to all registered participants, including researchers, students, professionals, and industry partners. Audience members must register in advance to attend.

What is the process for selecting the winners among the participants ?

The best paper award and other recognitions will be determined by a panel of judges based on the originality, innovation, and quality of the research presented. Judges will evaluate papers and presentations during the sessions.

Is there a permissible number of participants in the same research study ?

Up to three co-authors can participate in presenting the same research study. However, each must be listed as a co-author in the submission.

Is it permissible to engage in multiple research projects at the conference ?

Yes, participants can submit multiple papers or participate in several research projects, provided each paper is unique and meets the submission guidelines. However, each paper will be reviewed and judged independently.
